Knowledge Exchange brings this to life by providing your business with a University researcher, who is an expert in your field. Sending our researchers into industry helps businesses, whilst ensuring that our research is always relevant and contributes to training the next generation of talent through up-to-date teaching.
There are several schemes available and we will help you along the way to find the right solution for your organisation at any given time.
KEEP+ provides businesses with flexible innovation opportunities, with a focus on the development of new products and services. The programme provides small and medium-sized enterprises with matched funding, allowing knowledge exchange through academic expertise and graduate talent.
Projects can be in any sector, from Creative Arts to Life and Medical Sciences and Engineering. There are several strands in the scheme. ‘KEEP’ embeds an Associate within your company for usually 12-18 months to transfer the knowledge and work on a specific, innovative project. Research & Innovation Collaborations are direct consultancy with the academic and can last up to 12 months.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) enable us to provide your business with a researcher whose expertise matches your strategic needs. A research associate will also be placed into your business to work on the designated project, for between 12 and 36 months with an end-goal of demonstrating clear innovation, impact, commercial viability and productivity growth over a 5-year period.
Grant funding from Innovate UK can provide up to two-thirds of the project costs for small and medium-sized business and up to half of the cost for large businesses.
We’ve obtained funding for over 100 KTPs to date and our dedicated team will support you through the application process and the entirety of the partnership.
A new complimentary to Innovation KTPs initiative called Management KTPs focuses on the structural, management or leadership challenges that companies face to grow. Very similar to innovation KTPs but covering projects for new business models, organisation and cultural change, and operations and supply chain management or respond to Covid-related challenges such as remote working innovation or business continuity planning.
Submission deadlines are every 2-3 months.
