Neovia Logistics

Herts Propeller were commissioned to produce an eye-catching mural for Neovia Logistics Hemel Hempstead Office. The brief set for our 2nd Year Illustration students was to create a striking visual that would cover an entire wall in the staff canteen. Working to the theme of well-being and relaxation our students worked up a storm to present a series of illustrations in response to the client brief.

Neovia Logistics brief to our students:

We have a canteen space which is uninspiring and cold. We would like a mural on the large wall to brighten up the room and offer a place where employees can relax during their breaks. It should not reflect the work place at all.  The warehouse environment is not a calming place to work so we would like them to be able to step into the room and be transported to another place.

Never ones to shy away from a challenge we embraced the brief presenting the Neovia team with a variety of mural ideas as diverse as seascapes, landscapes and abstract designs.

One of the shortlisted students Charlie Smart said: –

“The opportunity is something I jumped at…It’s not just the money…but the opportunity to get my work out there and see what people think.  It’s not so much winning that matters, I was shortlisted and that means a lot. So to have your work chosen and valued is a big thing, whether I win or not!”

Whoever wins the project commission will win a sizable award for their design.  But as Charlie say, it’s not about the winning, it about the valuable experience of working with a live project and getting your work out there.  That’s one of our aims at Herts Propeller……enabling students to gain valuable industry experience on live projects.
