Rebranding Hatfield

In 2014 Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire challenged second year Graphic Design students to consider the future of Hatfield.

The brief was to design a new visual identity and wider brand strategy to change the perception of the town. Student Marc-Antoine VallĂ©e’s solution was selected by a panel of councillors, members of the local business community and University staff as the winning project.

His thorough proposal included a pattern system inspired by the architecture of Hatfield House, a custom typeface as well as set of icons, signage options, digital applications and promotional items.
